Session Costs

At Whanganui Counselling Services, we are committed to making counselling accessible, simple, and transparent.

Standard Counselling Session Fees:

  • $100 an hour (including GST) per session (60 minutes) – individuals.

  • $100 an hour (including GST) per session (60 minutes) – couples, relationships - any 2 people.

  • $125 an hour (including GST) per session (60 minutes) - 3 people.

Weekends/Public Holidays/After Hours Counselling:

  • $125 an hour (including GST) per session (60 minutes) - individuals.

  • $125 an hour (including GST) per session (60 minutes) - couples, relationships - any 2 people.

  • $150 an hour (including GST) per session (60 minutes) - 3 people.


Mediation and Mentoring Fees

  • $125 an hour + GST per session (60 minutes) – mediation/mentoring couples, 2 people.

  • $150 an hour + GST per session (60 minutes) - 3 people.

Weekends/Public Holidays/After Hours Mediation and Mentoring:

  • $150 an hour + GST per hour session - couples, any 2 people.

  • $175 an hour + GST per hour session - 3-4 people.

Mini Workshop Fees

How Payment Works

  • Clients pay for their own sessions privately not via ACC or other funded pathway options.

  • Payment is made via online banking before appointment, or cash on the day pre-session.

  • You will be receipted for your payment and/or a Xero invoice will be sent to you showing a nil balance, payment made in full.


Why a Flat Fee?

Our structure is simple: no sliding scales, no complicated forms. We do not use Eftpos. No hidden fees, no surprises, pay by cash or online banking. Our purpose is: accessibility, transparency, and empowering you to have the confidence of what it costs before you walk in the door.
